Warm Up With These 5 Winter Drinks (With a Twist)

Posted on February 22, 2017

Ugh. Is it seriously still winter? Time to warm up with some *twisted* drinks meant especially for these chilly days. ‘Scuse us while we daydream about summer as we sip on these five classic drinks with a little twist!

(Hint: the twist is alcohol).

Spiked Blackberry Cider

In this recipe, all you need is cider, lemonade, blackberries, and a splash of vodka. We also wouldn’t blame you if you added more than just a splash… For a wintry twist, swap the hard cider with normal apple cider and heat the mixture up in a saucepan before adding the vodka. Yum!

Spicy Cinnamon Hot Tea

But where’d all the rum go? In this case, it went into this super simple spiked tea recipe. Notes of orange and lemon have us looking to bright summer days, while the cinnamon tea reminds us that it’s still winter. Ah, well. At least we have this drink to keep our spirits up in these cold times.

Honey + cider + wine + cranberries = why hadn’t we tried this before?! This recipe is really easy (especially if you have a crockpot) and, no surprise, really good.

Classic Bloody Mary

Okay, sure, we’d have a Bloody Mary in the coldest of winters as well as the hottest of summers. But there is an undeniable “cold weather drink” kind of feel to any good B’Mary. Perhaps it’s the spicy kick, the sizzling bacon, or the savory topping options. Or perhaps we just like to drink year round. Either way, check out this mouthwatering recipe.

Sparkling Berry Mimosa

Perfect for any gathering that’s bright and bubbly, the mimosa is undoubtedly a happy drink. So even though it’s not technically a drink meant specifically for the winter, we wanted to include this recipe to bring some bright, sparkling joy into your life!”
